Fuse bead brands and color codes | MARD, Perler and Hama
Every fuse bead brand has its own color codes, so the same number can mean a different color. Check which brand a pattern's codes are for, and use a conversion chart to find close colors in other brands.
Sizes differ by brand too
Even “mini” beads can vary slightly in size by brand, from around 2.5 mm to 2.6 mm. For a single piece, sticking to beads of the same brand and size where possible keeps the rows neat and gives a cleaner finish.
Tips for matching colors
- Check which brand the pattern's color codes are for (mamepix patterns use MARD codes)
- When using another brand's beads, find close colors in the color conversion chart
- Differences show up easily in skin tones and pale colors, so compare the real beads side by side
Making mamepix patterns with other beads
Patterns from the Pattern Maker show MARD codes. If you're using Perler or Hama beads you already have, swap in close colors using the color conversion chart. The matches are only approximate, so the final colors will look slightly different.

Can I mix beads from different brands?
You can if they're the same size, but they may melt a little differently or vary slightly in size. For the most visible areas, sticking to one brand gives the neatest result.
