What are MARD color codes? | How to read 2.6 mm fuse bead color codes
A MARD color code is a letter plus a number: the letter is the color series (A = yellow/orange, H = white/gray/black…) and the number is the shade. mamepix patterns, kits and single-color beads all use them.
How to read the codes

Same “yellow”, different codes
Color names are only a rough guide: codes with the same name, like “yellow” or “pink”, each have a different shade. When following a pattern, match by color code, not by color name.
Colors on screen can look slightly different from the real beads depending on your display. If in doubt, the surest way is to lay real beads side by side and compare them.
Matching beads you already have
- If your beads have color codes, compare them directly using the “Codes” view in the Pattern Maker
- For other brands' beads, find the closest MARD code in the color conversion chart
- For beads with unknown codes, place them next to the color chart and pick the closest color

How many MARD colors are there?
The mamepix color chart lists 291 colors. Of these, 221 are standard colors we carry in kits and as single-color beads.
Are they the same as Perler or Hama color codes?
No, they use different numbers. You can look up close matches in our “Perler and Hama color conversion chart” (approximate).
